My wg has developed a weird noise only in the last month and buggered if I can find it.

It is like feedback noise thru the speakers (even when the radio isn't on) and it seems to be coming from the back of the car but when I check the rear speakers there is nothing, I have also checked the rear disk stacker and it's as quite as a mouse - but if I get back in the front you can hear it again.

The sound is the same volume all of the time not loud but enough to hear it when driving or parked.

Obviously noise travels and it must be coming from somewhere else.
Any ideas

Rich
Went looking for the noise over Easter - havn't found it yet but what I did find when I lifted the rear seats on the drivers side rear passenger floor under the jack handles was a flat metal type box with plugs going into it.

Can I assume it is an inverter or control box of some sort for the cd stacker at the back.

Back to the weird noise it certainly gets louder with the rear seats lifted and it seems to be about in the centre near the hump - it nearly sounded like it was coming from underneath the car but I can't hear anything when I climb under because of vehicle running.

Is there anything that could/would make that sound underneath the car that I should check

Rich

Is it still there when you have the engine shut down ?? Or only when it's running ??
You have an amp under the back seat which could be causing feedback but if you have a CRD it could be coming from the fuel cooler underneath, it's in that area. ( I don't know what it's really called but thats what it does)

Thanks - marvelous what you don't see isn't it - I have had the seats up so many times but have never noticed it before.
