I've got a set and think they're good, but talk to Team J.a.G - he's had some break up on him.

IMHO BFG at's are great when they are new but when they wear they lose a LOT of grip on the bitumen when wet
So is pounding the pinch weld dificult. It looks pretty solid. Wouldn't it be better to cut it? I asume removing and cutting the plastic is easyier?

I am going to be running the wheels i got off you so hopfully i don't get as much rub. Looking at the Mick Ts FC-11s but the smallest they come in is 265/75/16..

I like the coopers but they work out to be 30-40 more a tyre, which i guess isn't that much considering i have spend about 4k in the last month on my car..

Don't grind the pinch weld off, or else you'll have to reweld it.

The easy way to do the mod is to use a hot knive (soldering iron).
Cut a slot around the pinch weld on three sides (u-shape).
Use a heat gun to soften the plastic.
Pull the plastic tab back to expose the pinch weld.
Sledge-hammer the pinch weld flat.
Spray the area with paint (coz it will have flaked off).
Heatgun the plastic flap and mould it so it goes flat.
Heatgun the now flattened flap over the 'hole' in the liner and plastic weld the hole.

This is how i did mine and it worked well.

There's a 1.75mm radius difference b/w a 'std' 245/75 R16 and that size.

My Cooper 245/75s rub a bit (compressed at half lock) even with the pinch weld pounded dead flat.
The pinch weld mod is easy, don't worry bout it.
You'll have some rubbing on the front of the wheel arch liner too - so some cutting there as well.

You may want to consider the charts below to help with your decision. The top one is based on the BFG AT tyre.
