Polyairs arent just for levelling.

They also stop the suspension compressing fully in dips, washouts etc that may unweight the front (ie steering) wheels. And they will also put the correct amount of braking bias / weight transfer back into the 4 wheels.

I also found they reduced body roll in corners too.

Thanks for the advise all!

To answer the (many) questions above:
- the Jeep settled about 1 inch when the CT was added
- the Ball weight is about 85 kilos, about 10% of the Gross CT Weight. I try and move the load about to even up the distribution and the Box on the front has nothing heavy in it.

Towing it back from the camp was definately interesting. As the Water Tank was lightened, it really did feel light on the steering and the braking wasn't as good as I would like.

Have been looking into some alternatives. The Airbags look good however I don't think they would work with the Spring Spacers in the Rear (currently I have 2.5" Terraflex Rear Spacers on the Stock coils) as there is litterally not enough spring to fit them in before it's on the bumpstops.

So have called Dobinsons and they have some 60mm lift coils for the rear for about $194 a pair which I will look at installing before the next trip and rip out the spacers!

Thank's for your advise all!

Hi Tassiemav,

Some camper trailers have the fridge & whatever in the forward box balanced with a 120lt rear water tank. You could imagine the weight shift onto the ball as the water is used.

Usually it is a good idea to upgrade your suspension when towing a camper trailer etc, however if your ball weight is only 85kg you could use Polyairs when towing & still have a decent ride round town by letting the air out to the minimum pressure.

The Polyairs fit inside your coil itself http://www.heasmans.com.au/new_site/products/a1000.html

Your spacers fit on the end of the coils.

Rob

If it only dropped an inch when you hooked it up I wouldn't do anything
