THe Nitro is a KK with the good bits taken out, not the other way around.

I test drove the CRD in both the KK and JK, and found that the KK had a heap more punch. For touring I've heard that they are as comfortable as the KJ (which is a great tourer) , and with the slightly bigger interior that would be good. As well you can put bigger tyres on so that would be another plus, Plus there is already a lift on the way so thats a bonus as well.

Don't know of someone personally that has the moon roof option, but, have seen them driving around. I mean, it would be cool, but, I would imagine with age, the roof might be a little bit of a issue, Leaks, tears, rattles, that sort of thing, but thats soft tops for you.

I agree I think in time the sky slider roof would have issues like stretching and stuff. I am tempted at times. But I can't trade mine in because all the mods have cost to much money. Also I'm not sure I want to go down the road worthy path as I have rear disk breaks and a Dana 44 rear axle. They may not notice all that but she needs a re-spray and I'm sure they would pick on crap and it'll end up costing me, as well as give me a lot of headaches....

KK is better for touring than the KJ.
Better seats than my 03 KJ
Better CRD than my KJ
Much better auto than the KJ CRD
Better interior space (more luggage room)
Only minus point is the thicker A pillars than the KJ, gotta get some strength in the roof structure since with the sky slider there is no strenth in the roof panel.

I have had a KK since last july. I have now done 13000km with no problems yet. We travelled from Tamworth NSW too Bundaberg QLD 2 time so far since july 2008 and have travelled from Tamworth too Coffs about 5 times this year with another trip coming up to Coffs at Easter. All of our travelling was done pulling a box trail with our camping gear in it. The KK is very comfortable on long trips, with heaps of power in the CRD for overtaking. As for 4wd the KK needs more ground clearance but performs very well.

Question Newbie wants a KK

Hello all, seems like a friendly forum,
I am new to this site, done a little 4WDing (years ago) and considering a petrol KK.
I assume none of you have to much bad to say about them,
so do you have any advice before I go into battle with a slippery Jeep salesman?

Make sure you get the delux molded spash guards thrown in the std long ones fitted get ripped off on speed bumps. Other than that just ask for as many extras as possible to be thrown in ie all the under body bash plates.
