Default Uconnect equipped radio won't pair phone?

Hi all,
Just wondering how many of you have the Uconnect bluetooth equipped radio fitted to your Jeeps. I am having trouble getting my Nokia E51 mobile connected to the system. Are there any tricks to it? I have been through the process a number of time & it won't connect. I had this phone connected to the nokia bluetooth kit of the car I traded in & it worked a treat. Is this system particular about which phones connect to it? I have had a look on the web & the E50 is mentioned but not the E51. I thought the E51 was just a later model of the this line. Any help would be appreciated.

You wouldn't believe that after so many attempts to get this working I went out to my car after work tonight & the damm thing connected & worked straight away. Isn't that just so frustrating. I can now report that it's fantastic, the sound is clear great and with the mic built into the rear view mirror it works a treat. Now I am going to have to get the book out & figure out how to use it & voice train it.

Both our phones are connected to Uconnect.... good luck on your voice training...... I can load numbers, but then it doesn't recognise my voice to ring them...

oh and a question... ur sig says you have a 2009 Grand Cherokee????? We picked our brand new WH up a few weeks ago and it is a 2008 model... The dealer told me that Jeep haven't released their 2009 models yet!

I only ask as I don't like the feeling that I might have been lied to!

Kat,

Actually it's a late 2008 build on the compliance plate but we bought it the week before Easter. Suppose that's why I quoted 2009. I've changed it to be 2008/9 now. Hope that'll keep everyone happy or confuse them even more.

You've also still got it as WJ up the top. That did confuse me when I first started reading thinking I don't have this Uconnect (or maybe I do?). I have a Bluetooth add on that turns the radio down automatically when it's used.

Angry Nokia versus U-Connect

Check out thread "Mobile Phones and U-Connect". I have finally managed to pair my Nokia E63 (Not So) Smart phone to my Jeep's U-Connect, but each time I turn the ignition off and on I have to manually reconnect. My previous phone, an LG paired up perfectly, and connected automatically when I started the vehicle. Neither Nokia nor my vehicle service people can give me a credible answer.
