Have you had a DBR 111 scan done? You may just have a bad connection some where.
Haven't done a scan yet, but it sounds like a good idea before I start on the injector pump.

Well if I follow the manual it should probably go OK I hope? It do describe how to remove and install it. Maybe I learn a bit also doing the job

Hehe, Don't think we have any local diesel specialist located her up far north in Norway. Far between specialists up here. We have a Jeep dealer here, but they have just started so not sure if they have the tools needed if they haven't done a cherokee yet..

Good luck vux !!
Many of the tools are not that important.
The gear removal tool is just a gear puller.
Dial indicator is something that machine shops have.
Make sure you dont rotate the engine or pump once its out. Before you pull the pump set the engine up how it needs to be for the installation. That way you can set the new pump exactly as the old one is at removal. I still dont believe the actual pump is the problem.

I would like to know what IP model you have.
If it is the VP36 you are in trouble, because that model needs a base adjustment with the dial indicator(special adapter needed for the center screw) and adjusts itself while driving (thats why you have the injector No.1 with a cable.) Manipulating with a resistor is cruel and thats the performance you get.
It is not like "just turning the IP a bit" and you are done.

Adjustment of the IP is precision work- you shouldn't do it if you never have done it before.
It also must be done in the specific order.

If you have SKIM you should have a dealer install anyway. Reprogramming a fresh pump to SKIM is necessary.

Hi all, perhaps silly question but does the 2.5 TD run an IAC. Symptoms of rpm "bouncing", high, low could be something to inspect, clean/replace? On my phone so no FSM at hand.. Cheers.

I do have the SKIM on my model. Will take it to the dealer to read out the codes that I cant read out my self, and to get a price for changing the IP. It will not be cheap. Could probably buy a used Cherokee for the same price

I am a bit surprised by the suggestion about SKIM. A number of members here in Australia have changed out IP's & even engines with no need to do SKIM work. I am not aware of the IP's having electronic intelligence, just control. Would be interesting to hear the details that cause such work to need doing.
