To be honest, all models should have their own sections I reckon. Within the GC family alone, they are all different. Just like the Wranglers, they aren't the same.

Yeah, but the problem with that is there will not be enough traffic in each of those sections to justify them or be of any greater value to the forum than they are now. That's exactly the problem I'm finding with the Commander section at the moment. But as it is literally the same car as a WH but with a different body, I see a lot of value in merging the two sections.

For instance, I rely on getting most of my info on the CRD, driveline, suspension and electronics from WH forum regulars like Clarky, James Laugesen, Valpacer, Briteway, Wilsonjeep et. al. There are some guys with great knowledge in the Commander section like Multihull, JRJ33P, 08crd but they are just not quite as active and I think bringing everyone together from these two models would encourage a bit more interaction and collaboration. At this stage at least my idea looks to be popular with the WH owners. Just need a few Commander owners to chime in now.....

Thanks for the comments though - keep em coming!

Yeah, I agree, not enough traffic is a problem, like the Compass Section. I wonder where Renegade will fit in. Since XH~WH you should amass Commander-Grand Cherokee members for a Jambo get together. Be great to get a group photo for AJOR afterwards

The WH and XH are exceptions.
The XH is already rare and not made anymore, so the forum will most-likely only get smaller.
The XH and WH are the same, the body & interior is the only difference, which is rarely the subject of questions.

There are more differences between a JK and JKU, or a JK Sport and JK Rubicon for example.

At the end of the day, XH owners would have a nicer time here if the forums were combined.

PS; @Clarky, to stick with the AU/US naming convention the forums would have to be;
"WH/K XH/K"
and
"WK2/K"
They really mucked things up for us with the WK2 haha.

I think it's a great idea especially for the Grand Cherokee guys as there's too many totally different designs and builds of Grands on that thread and so too many threads happening on there. As you said the WH Grand and the XH Commander are the same cars just with different boxes on top. Or should I say the Commander has the box and the GC has the sleeker lines.

Don't get me wrong, as I've said before I agree with the split and hope Jimmy will be agreeable to it. It makes sense and is progressive, so all the more reason to get it done.

My comment stems from when GCs were all grouped as one whilst Cherokee for example had seperate sections. So if grouping XH and WH together works, why not, right. It's not like it's set in stone. Change is good. Unlike Greece and EU, this is actually a good thing!!

That will leave WK2 on it's own, which is fine. It has heaps of traffic. I wonder where the future Grand Wagoneer will fit. Hopefully not just a stretched grand.

P/S: James L, who's the white WH with 33"? near Delaney Dr, Windsor Rd? Looks awesome.
