Hi Tim,
I bought my Provent through Stu at Murchison Products, along with the suspension lift, 3" exhaust, steel front bash plate & GDE Flash tune.
Only thing to go now is a snorkel and rock rails.......still working on the wife....

I had my mechanic fit the Provent. He didn't seem to have too much trouble fitting it. The drain hose comes out next to the front mudflap and hangs down about 40mm. I either park somewhere on gravel etc or stick a can under it to drain it. Note: you must fit a brass ball valve tap.

Very happy how the Jeep goes and tows with the mods. I'm mainly into torque for towing but have cracked the odd smile when the tyres have screeched from take off at the lights

Re: Filter. I would go for the AFE rather than the K & N. Fitted me one of those as well.

Cheers, Craig

Thanks for all the info. Great to get such feedback on my first post.

I recently moved to Gosford from Toowoomba, otherwise I would call in on Stu at Murchison Products. Any suggestions re similar Jeep specialists in the Sydney area?

I bought my Provent online via Ebay from a Diesel Specialist base in Sydney

In a previous life I have used the Provent catch can before and to be honest I did not think it was much chop, its hard to mount, harder to adapt and I'm sumwhat not convinced it works that well. I have probably sold about 20 of them and we wanted them to be the answer, but in my opinion, they are not. Also, they are not cheap...

We changed over to these catch cans with great success and I would highly recommend you take a look at this product before fitting a catch can.

Default provent drain back line

I have my provent mounted on the engine crossover bar and the drain line runs into a square 1 litre oil bottle held in place by the inner guard

I drain it every 20,000 k,s at service time about 250ml crud in it

I had a smaller bottle originally but went bigger just in case I don't get round to emptying it as often as its a hard job reaching down to get it

I was actually going to make a small alloy catch tank under the drivers floor with a tap on it but bottle works fine

If you fit a catch can I would do the EGR Defeat as well, about $2 worth of parts then you have cut down on the oil as well as exhaust gases causing problems, $2 worth of resistors and diodes far less expensive than chips etc.

Some have spent hundreds of dollars replacing swirl motors when a $2 fix was available.
