I just worry that by the time someone makes a mass produced one, I'll have got rid of the car, cause I'm starting to worry about the amount of breakages going on, and we've only got warranty to 200,000kms (another 2 years). I just don't know if I could afford to keep the car once its out of warranty.
They certainly said it is airbag compatible.

unfortunately, my understanding is that, because airbags on a jeep are deployed by rapid enough negative acceleration, you could strap anything on the front of the car and it will still be airbag compatible.
Happy to hear I'm wrong though

What seems to be the isues and breakages making you guys want to sell them at the end of warranty?

I've just put extended warranty on my Grand (4 years) because it only has 45,000 on the clock, so are there drammas awaitng me? what should i be looking for and when?

The biggest problem for me is not that necessarily anything different to other cars is breaking, its just how expensive it is when it does, cos its normally attached to other stuff. eg the dust boot on the upper ball joint breaks - you needs to buy need upper control arms for $800 each. Bushes in lower control arms wear out and you need to buy lower control arms - you cant just buy the bushes. Our steering rack is also to be replaced (haven't even heard how much that will be yet). Drivers seat electrical stuff broken - need whole new seat base (once again, I hate to think how much that would be if not under warranty).
We drive ours reasonably hard - just got back from Cape York and about to head to Camerons corner - and have put 120000kms on it.
I suppose, having my other car as a TJ, I'm used to being able to replace the parts that are actually broken as opposed to everthing they could possibly be attached to.
Having said that, the car is great and I don't regret getting it for a moment.

Fair enough thanks for that,as i said i've got 4 years or 155,000 to think about it but i would like to hang on to it for as long as posible given the money spent on it and while it's doing the job which sometimes is a tuff one towing a 3t+ off road caravan. And our last trip was 6000k's in 4 weeks out Camerons Corner and Innamincka the Dig Tree and so on,and it was faultless and did all that and got 18.5 L/100 K's try getting that out of a Patrol or Cruiser.

I did the trip from Brisbane - Innamincka - Birdsville -Eyre Ck, Simpson D - Birdsville - Charleville - Brisbane (4000km) in 17 days in July school hols this year and averaged 13.5L/100. No trailer, just a family of 4 and the car & big roof rack loaded. Fantastic economy
