I just disconnect the senors and then plug up their holes in the DPF and go for a drive. I then check for any error codes.

I removed the two sensor tubes to the DPF and plugged up the holes in the DPF. I then uploaded the Green Diesel DPF delete program and then drove around for about 2 weeks as a trial. No error codes popped up on the dash or on my Green Diesel scan tool reader so all seems great, the car ran perfectly. The next step is to find the time to get a 3" exhaust fitted and removing the DPF and replacing the standard OEM Catalytic Converter with a high flow unit.

Sounds like all is well with that tune then Phil. We've got the 3" Stainless Exhaust kits in stock too, see here http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref...chisonProducts

By the way, dont mean to sound like a Greeny too much but I dont recommend removing CAT's or DPF's at all, you can however REPLACE the stock CAT with a Hi Flow version for the same results. Raw un filtered Diesel fumes coming out the back is worse for your heath than say smoking a pack of 16mg darbs a day.....yuk!

Our WH CRD that ran a 14.93 1/4 mile still has 2 CATS fitted, the OE one straight off the Turbo and a Hi Flow smaller one that replaced the large factory cannon.

The program sounds like it has done the job, what i'll be most keen to know is once the DPF has been physically taken out, how much it improves the drive of the Commander - will there be less turbo lag?, will it breathe alot better?, will the fuel consumption be affected?... these are the things I want to know as i dont believe the DPF is any good for the car long term.

I have been comparing dads WH to my commander, and even his weighing as much as it does, and having the amount of gear on it that it does, I actually think that his WH still goes better off the mark and runs better generally then what my commander does - they're sposed to have the same figures, so you would assume that they would go as good as each other - but, the WH doesnt have a DPF and the commander does. That could be the difference.

As far as i'm concerned, the less restrictions on the exhaust, the better.

When you remove the DPF, will you be gutting the OE unit, or replacing that whole section with say just a pipe?
