The decoder doesn't state a GVW for mine, but handbook shows 6449kg (2013)

I thought the later models (like mine) have a reduced GVM (6100) which is basically the original 6449 less 350 kg (max ball weight)

I think we're getting tangled with the terminology.

GVM (or GVWR in Jeep parlance) is the total vehicle weight (2949kg in 2013). Ball weight is part of the car's payload, which added to the tare weight gives you the GVM (GVWR).

The 6449kg figure is the GCM (Gross Combined Mass - total weight of vehicle and trailer fully loaded). Jeep call it GCWR, at least they did in 2013.
