UPDATE - CRD Clutch replacement 2010 JKU
Loss of drive confirmed due to DMF failure. Clutch pressure and friction plates both still in good condition. DMF on the other hand had basically separated into two disconnected disks. If the ringgear side is stationary, the clutch plate side of the flywheel spins quite freely.
Replaced with Xtreme Outback HD clutch kit including a solid flywheel. Clutch feels good with a light pedal. No significant noise or vibration although there is now some “feedback” vibration for want of a better description through the clutch pedal when fully depressed during gear changes. Nothing to complain about and happy to have eliminated the potential for any future DMF failure.
Clutch fork pivot was also greased (was dry and dusty) and the dreaded creaking noise when the clutch was pressed is now gone as well.
