I'd probably look to replace the spotties on the front of this one.

They would cut out a heap of air flow and the CRDs are known for running very hot anyways. Maybe swap them out for a LED lightbar instead.

Anyone currently running large spotties on the front of their CRDs and can confirm (I haven't made it that far into by build yet)

at 13.5lt per 100 it will not have diff gears, I get 11ish with 35's on my crd with 4.56:1.
Factor in a timing belt change as soon as you get it.

IMHO its not a instant deal of the year.. It has stock side steps, a cheap lift,
Some unknown to the jeep world chip in it (not saying its not good or bad) but the main goal from the CRD tune is to if it turns off the EGR or not.
It has a mix of pretty colours which catch the eye, but it still has a basic lift, cheap rims, factory flares.

Dont be too stuck on the ratio, if you do any real 4x4 you will break the front diff so replace the ratio then. The clutch is a factory problem, the dual mass flywheels are rubbish and wear out fast. as seen this has already been replaced.

plus side
Its neat,
winch
roof rack
front and rear bars
snorkel

id get flash a few $1000 less in front of the asking price and see how you go.

Thanks everyone for the advice!

MidnightMods,
Totally agree on the negatives, I was planning on replacing the suspension anyway, probably go a 3" lift soon after I get it. As for the cheap steel rims, are there any disadvantages other than extra weight?

On the plus side, the lockers are pretty attractive as well, to do this myself on a stock Wrangler would be rather expensive...does anyone know the approx cost of the parts?

Front Bar: $1000?
Rear Bar: $1500?
Steinbauer chip: $1500?
ARB Lockers: $4000?
Warn winch: $1500?
Suspension (will be replacing): $1500?
Spotties: $500?

I will be giving DBOR a call regarding the Steinbauer chip, I have read they are pretty good, does anyone have one that can provide some first hand experience?

Thanks!

lockers alone are about 1k each, plus install, remembering he didn't regear and you need to replace the front locker when you go 4.56:1 that has to be replaced.

Dont forget to add the roof rack, they are not so common on a jk and cost more then you think. id be aiming for a 36k buy
