I would recomend you machine the flywheel. Not a big job, just need to remove the gearbox.

I've read in a number of cases that the TJ has a concave or convex flywheel surface and can't be machined?

I assume though that an aftermarket clutch plate is "flat" to suit a machined flywheel?

Dont worry about machining it buy this its $180 delivered new flywheel

Well the thrust race let go today and the TJ is screaming it's head off. So it's going into the shop on Friday, gearbox out and get fixed. Need to find a new HD clutch while I'm in there. What's the best one to use, turning 35's.

Yep. Haven't worked out the ratio yet (only picked it up last weekend) but it does about 2250-2300rpm at a gps 100km/hr on 35's.
