I just made a water and jerry can holder for the back of my Commander for a Simpson Desret trip. It worked well but the stub axle hinge would have been a better way to go. Were do you buy flangeless hub from?

trailer parts shop and they not that expensive either.

was it hard to bend those wings on the ends? I see you used 3mm thick RHS, do you think this would be strong enough for a tow bar hitch? i was think of using 5mm thick, but it will be harder to bend the ends like yours...

would be easy to bend if you cut it from behind half way through, then bend when you have the angle you want run a weld down the back.

Thanks Ian, what do you reckon for the wall thickness if it is being used as a tow bar?

i have a tow bar so thats why i used 3mm.

5mm will be really heavy tho.
