eh?? you're joking right?

I have a stock sport 2 door petrol and can happily tow a 2010 model kK sports RV unlimted. I just want more umph thats all but frankly it still does the job.

Still on stock tyres but just about to put in some BFG's, but still legal, so only 265/70/17's.

I'm so confused about how the regearing improves pulling power, so I'll probably just go the chip option.

As simplistically as I can...regearing will increase your pulling power (torque) but will increase your revs at all speeds. If you are running stock tyres then this is a pain...if you decide to run 33's, 35's etc then you have increased your final drive rations (not final-drive as in diff just the size of your wheels is the rear final ration in a vehicle) so you will gain top end speed compared to revs but will lose torque. So if you increase your tyre diameter then regearing basically can bring you back to the designed torque ratio that the vehicle manufacturers intended...or you can drop them if that suits your situation...ie a rock-crawler might like having a lower crawl speed at the expense of highway cruising.

If you are happy with the basically standard tyres and you just need a slight power-up then chip is your go.

Hope that helps
Matt

Thanks Matt

That was very helpful and I now understand. I'm hardly changing tyre size so I'll go with the chip optoin to hopefully increase torque.

cheers,

The Flaspaq re sets the CPU and removes the old programme and installs it on its memory... (Not a go between) new programme altogether...

Had mine for about 2 months now and could not go back...

It’s worth every cent IMHO

What Power setting are you running? Have you tried the Max power setting?

Currently set on its highest setting which is for 93 Oct or higher and currently using 95 Oct fuel...

Goes faster more responsive easily keeps up with the traffic and with better fuel economy average less than 11L/100km and on weekend trip to Harvey at 110kmh (250-300km round trip) average was 10.7/100km

Saving about $10-$15 in fuel from 91 Oct which I now spend on the 95 Oct so fuel cost wise over the week not any better but heaps better to drive

When I had it tuned at 91 Oct felt all the same changes as above (with a little less grunt) fuel eco average was about 10.5L/100km and the $10-$15 was going in my pocket.

I average on a normal week just under 500km
