I,m considering installing a Sprintex Supercharer to increase torque and maybe get better fuel economy. From what I've read is the full economy goes down with a Supercharger, why's this when your pumping in more air shouldn't this increase the efficiency, if you just drive normally the fuel economy should go up.
Also can anyone quote actual figures they achieve with a Sprintex installed on a 3.8?

I wanted to go v8 in my 2009 3.8 but the kits did not seem to work with RHD and non kit engines looked like I would lose too much dash function due to the whole canbus thing. Have ordered a RIPP, one of their black inter cooled ones that will run 11lb boost. Hopefully will arrive in next few weeks. RIPP quote an extra 100 hp at the rear wheels, I'm just after more highway power so should do the trick. Currently on 33 inch tyres with stock 3.73 diffs and no plans to change

If your only pumping more air in your going to run lean and melt your pistons. You still need the fuel to air ratio, it pumps more of both in so you create more power. With a super charger your using the motor to create the boost so like your ac it creates drag on your motor where a turbo if your exhaust blowing through fins on a turbine making the boost there is no drag but it gets lag if the fins are not sping fast enough.
My opinion is to turbo as its a cheaper and much easier to tune.

IMHO the SC might be a tempting bandaid for the V6 it's still not as good as a V8.
If you are prepare to sink that much money into the V6, why not spend a little more and get the V8
The Hemi isn't a bad choice, but again IMHO I think the LS is a far smarter option.

Most likely Yetiboy is referring to the 6.4L SRT.
Cost - to do it properly - heaps because it would probably make mincemeat of the rest of your driveline unless it's upgraded.

Supercharged run around $10k intercooled drive in drive out, V8 hemi is around $30k drive in drive out an LS will be around $25k but not all dash function due to canbus and LS computer not talking or a trip around Australia with all the fruit on your jeep and change and using the jeep to make you smile but take a little longer cos you couldn't do 110 up the hills.
I know which one I'm choosing!!!

Cheapest/easiest/smartest option, sell the Jeep and buy a V8 turbo 70 series Cruiser.
