Factory oil pressure test port location is right below the oil cooler. M12x1.5mm.
If you want to be one of the cool kits, Bosch Motorsport makes a pressure and temperature sensor in one unit.

Not correct- the cool kids use the Mercedes Oilfilter Cap with the thread on top for the adapter…

Logical oil pressure is measured at the end of the oil supply line since it is not a closed line where the pressure would be constant everywhere.
Remember Bernoulli?

So every bearing is causing an oil pressure drop.
The original location is a good one. The service location is just revealing a significant drop or showing a huge mismatch.

Industrial use of the oil pressure sensor would be sensor number 1106- which is the sensor at the last bearing, causing a shutdown if the oil pressure is to low.

But it is just a small shitty engine.
