It looks like an FG engine is the engine of choice as it has a 1 piece cast alloy rear drop sump. I'm looking for 1 of those now, along with the oil pick-up & dipstick. I have heard that the earlier FG engines had provisions for a dipstick at both ends of the engine, but the newer version is rear only. So fitting the FG sump & pick-up to the Territory is easy, it's the dipstick that will be a challenge.

Killa Kustoms will be doing the wiring side of things for me. The rest will be done by myself. It would seem that the correct engine for this mod is the FG Falcon. It has the reversed sump. The FG sump will bolt onto BA-BF & Territory, but the dipstick is the problem as the FG has a casting in the block to locate it where the others don't The AU bellhousing bolts to the later blocks as Ford intended, but will need to be re-drilled & tapped for the sump area if needed. It's not structural, but I'll do it anyway. The BA onwards bellhousings don't appear to be compatible with any known off the shelf adapter plates to the NV3550 Jeep gearbox.

The Novak kit turned up today & it is a work of art. An upgraded XR6T clutch kit will cost $425
I'm nearly ready to start stripping out the Jeep engine & transmission.
