Hmmm, I'm not so sure. Mopar lasted ~7-8 years. Cheap aftermatket lasted 3 years.

Mopar was priced at ~4X aftermarket when I got it, so even with the shorter lifespan it is still financially preferable.

Just spoke to CJD, current price is just over $1100 for an OEM.
Basic replacement $242.
Mishimoto $689.

Anyone who have aftermarkets care to comment on them?

Have a look at the Mishimoto all alloy radiators. I know a few people running them now in JK's and TJ's and there are massive differences in the engine temps and coolant temps.

1/2 the price of genuine and a much better product than the plastic/aluminum units getting around.

Have a chat with Greg @ Beyond 4x4, a top Jeeper to deal with.

I have an eBay generic one in the WJ for last couple of years, seems to be holding up alright.
I had an.all alloy job in my old Hilux, temps were great but she sprung a leak on a join half way down a track

Picked up a radiator from a place nearby. Looks better quality than the OEM or Natrad. Unfortunately, I just didn't have the extra to justify a Mishimoto now. Interestingly it was also the cheapest option around!

Picked up new coolant & distilled water, all up ~$295 for the lot. Installed yesterday morning, then washed it to get all the sprayed & dried coolant off.

Now, I'll just monitor it for a week or so, to make sure all the air is out of the system. And find out where I can dispose of the old coolant properly...

What coolant did you use?

I went with a green Nulon one that matches the Mopar HOAT spec; MS-9769.

I used their green premium long life one. I was going to use the Nulon One, but Supercheap has the Green in a 6L on sale at the moment for ~$32.

5 year vs 10... It'll probably be replaced again before then, anyway.

I followed the instructions from the radiator place. Drain, disconnect heater hose, remove radiator. Fix garden hose to radiator hose & run for ~ 5 minutes. Attach hose to other side & repeat. Blocking various outlets to ensure all old coolant is out. Install radiator & fill with coolant until it pushes out the water & coolant comes out one of the heater ends. Block that end & continue topping up until coolant comes out the other end, to ensure as much water as possible is out, then top up with distilled water.

Start it up, run it for half an hour, let it cool & top up again, to get air out.

Even so, I think there was still tap water in it, as I only put in about 9L of coolant/distilled, and the specs all say 12L.
