From my perspective, the instance of calls we recieve of problem XJ diesel engines to petrol is very disproportionate. It's not something I've ever bothered to track, but it's enough that I personally wouldn't consider one unless it was something very special.

You will get probs with the oil pan (has to be altered, because of the steering column) you need new engine mounts with a very deep crossmember and you need a fugly hood scoop.
has been done and seen that monster already...
It is easier to insert a 5 cylinder (OM616?) Mercedes engine. ( have a built documentation somewhere, can seek for it)
