They tried the cheapskate way and this is the result..Would have been easier just to replace the board rather than coverup and denial

Haven't heard from the lying bastards.

When / if I do, I'll be waiting some time after others have had theirs done before I bother swapping back the infected FDCM and having it done......

Cheers, Craig

Is the fuse trick fix a permanent fix or one you need to do each time you want low?

Each time you get the message so good to get you out of trouble.

Edit 1: Read somewhere that someone was wiring in a switch to switch the fuse in and out to save pulling the fuse each time.

Edit2: I have a section on my web site specifically on N23 and "Service 4WD System" message and how to do the fuse trick and also about reading OBD2 codes using Bluetooth
and Android apps as well as WiFi with the iPhone and iPhone WiFi apps See:Commander Technical..This page is archived but I have updated it to add information (useful I hope)
about the N23 issue..Much of it gleaned from this forum (and others) so thanks to those member..It's been informative to me and I hope others. I will continue to update it as
more information comes to light and also if corrections and additions are recommended by those on this thread

Where did you get the non-infected FDCM, and is it difficult to remove/refit?

search ebay for a WH Grand of a Commander that's being wrecked & then ask them.
Ask how long they have had the car or if they know when it was written off (mine was from a Sep 13 wreck)
This is a pic of the FDCM under the back seat, its a plug & play thing. Just disconnect the battery first.

I listed the compatible part numbers in an earlier post.

Hi mate,
Bought mine from Poly 4x4 in Melbourne.
Very easy to swap over. The back seat is bolted to the floor with a 18mm bolt each side. One these bolts are removed, the base of the seat slides forward to expose the FDCM on the passenger side. There are two push in fittings to undo and Bobs your uncle.
Took me no more than about 5 minutes. Took longer to get the tools out and pack them up.

Good luck, Craig
