Default Android for Wrangler.

If your Wrangler is 2007-2015 this may be the Android unit for you - see picture below and link http://www.aliexpress.com/store/prod...450532035.html

If you get the Canbus adapter with it, everything should just plug-in and work fine, except perhaps fader control if you have an external amp. If it has issues there is not much lost and you can go Axxess Interface.

Jorge answers pretty promptly if you message but keep sentences short and simple. (I got too long winded and caused confusion.)

Alternatively in the Grand Cherokee forum "Bloke" revealed AVH-X head units have Android if you want to spend more money for possible better quality. It appears that navigation adapters are an extra cost option with these.

PS: I just went back to Shook's original post - that unit on eBay is probably fine for 2007-2012 vehicles and eBay buyer protection may be better than AliExpress.

Default 2014 - Radio Upgrade.

I can answer some questions if you like. I put in the eonon version. But it wasn't quite plug and play. I think there adaptor is for the earlier Jeeps and mine was a 2015. Not hard though....a couple of connector/converters (farko for aerial and mini usb to full usb) off eBay and some rewiring and I am there. Well mostly .
I have an issue with reverse cam we are sorting out with eonon support - have a choice between always on...or manually switched. But I think I'll get through it.
Do lose fader controls. So am interested in the axxis version. Possibly. Not sure I care too much.

Bluetooth is very ordinary but mostly compared to the myGig version which was very very good.

Apps are very cool. Use waze for navigation and Spotify / Apple Music for my streaming needs and it works really well.

I got a Telstra $49 usb /wifi hotspot on special a few weeks ago and plug it into the units USB port. Works very well. It boots and provides wifi just before the unit starts - so seemless.

All in all a pretty cool system..but not without its quirks. It's Chinese and its android...so some compromises are to be expected.

Here's the same one but a bit cheaper on Ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/281636206312

They look very interesting and I'm now considering changing to one. It means I can run torque pro from it and run my various mapping programs either on-line like Google Maps or off-line like Open Street Maps with all the tracks of the 4x4 Parks I've drawn over the years.

Mmmh, worth considering!
