Hi JohnBob,
I had this problem a while ago probably at about 100-120Ks.
There is a cooling pipe that runs along the valley from the front back to the EGR (underneath the turbo) at the rear of the motor. After time the sealing "o" rings become hardened due to heat and start to leak. "O" rings probably cost about 50 cents each but unfortunately every thing on top of the motor has to be removed to get at them, including the turbo. The labour cost about $1200. Where are you located, if in Brisbane Accelerate Automotive at Coopers Plains fixed mine. You need a mechanic that is familiar with the MB diesel motor.

Good Luck
Dave

Thanks Dave hopefully that's all it is , I'm located in Tasmania so my only option is the jeep dealer here, I have it booked in to get fixed next week , so I'll be looking forward to a nice bill[emoji22]
I'm starting to get a love hate relationship with my vehicle ha ha

So I got a price to get my leak fixed today and they are saying $5000 just for parts and then 2days labour on top of that, the lady who told me the price couldn't tell me what exactly is wrong but she is going to get the technician to ring me tomorrow morning[emoji24][emoji24]woohoo now I get to spend all night worrying

Sounds like they quoted for every possible cause. Get a parts list & supply the parts yourself, get them from the USA or the UK for half price. European motor so I would look in the UK. OM642 is the engine designation.

Well when you compare it to a replacement engine

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141191827...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

5K is a bit steep.
