Wow, thanks for all the incredible posts! As most of you guessed, yes this is my first time on sand. I feel a lot more confident about this trip now. Great posts covering a lot of stuff that I had absolutely no idea about (ESP off, recovery points, stock bumper makes good beach seat! ).

I just spoke to ARB about getting recovery hooks on my new jeep, and they said that I have to replace both bumpers! I really like the big plasticy bumpers (I specifically didn't put a bullbar pack on when I bought it because I prefer them) so I'm a bit bummed about that.
Can anyone comment as to whether this seems correct? It seems unusual that I would have to go to such lengths just to get a couple of hooks on it.
