I picked up power for my rear anderson plug from the jumper pins under the bonnet and using 8 B&S cable ran it underneath to tow hitch, it is for power to my van fridge only, my van batteries are charged by solar so no need for the Jeep to charge them at all, in fact its not possible, I couldn't see the need for the expense when I spend a week or so at a time by a river somewhere and the solar does it all ..... Running from the jumpers means I have decent size cables all the way, I also fitted an anderson plug there along with a maxi fuse so I can easily plug in my compressor if needed, just a matter of disconnect the cable to rear and plug in compressor/light whatever ...................
You won't need a DC/DC charger in the Jeep as thats what the Redarc is and it will regulate what it needs and if you have solar on the camper it may select the solar above the Jeep supply anyway .... If you fit a aux battery in back of jeep you would need one for it, remember though each thing you add puts even more load on the Jeep alternator something it really doesn't need.
I wouldn't connect direct to battery .................. 8 B&S or 8 AWG size cable nothing smaller or you will just get too much loss.
Also note the fuse must be less than the cabling you use otherwise the wires could melt before the fuse blows.
Just saw the price they want for that Redarc, thats a mind boggling price....
