I have MTZ's my dad has the new bfg muds. My MTZ's are fantastic offroad. Haven't see the BFG's tested on really hard stuff yet. But the bfg's are sooooo much quieter on the road.

339 isn't to bad a price at all for them i have 33's and they were abit more than 339

Check out the Maxxis Buckshot Mudders as well, pretty cheap compared to some others and have outstanding manners on road, they are less aggressive than some of the above mentioned tyres but still hold their own offroad. I'm on my third set now and wont be changing anytime soon.

i find the desert duellers to be a good mud tyre, they really dig in when others dont... followed closely by the nang kang.

Fixed it for you.

Anyhow, Steve - I was asking about the rotation cause IMHO if insufficient rotation is one of the biggest causes of tyre noise - so if that was your gripe - try doing the rotation again.
In terms of tyre models - My next tyres will be either MTZ or MTR...
