I thought about it but to do it the way I did it requires using some pressurized equipment in a manner it's not designed. So maybe not. But I think next time I try this I'm going to attempt it with compressed air, if that works out I'll let you know.

For what it's worth I did end up having to dissemble my compressor again, the new one failed. I'd only recommend the genuine German made unit. I have discovered that some of the aftermarket suppliers are suppling Chinese built units. Although they seem robust enough on first inspection I was unlucky enough to have mine fail though it wasn't it's fault entirely. I had a broke wire that was intermittently shutting the valve on the compressor leaving it to dead head against the closed valve laboring the motor serverly. The German unit 10years old had survived many more rounds of this dead heading during my testing. In the end it is my 10 year old unit that is back in there now although I did use the new compressor seal and piston from the new compressor in the old one.

Anyway this debacle gave me the opportunity to attempt my compressed air idea. I AM NOT INSTRUCTING YOU TO DO, OR ATTEMPT THIS I'm just passing on observations from an experiment. This time round I didn't have access to a scan tool when refilling so on a whim I just connected an air line 120psi to the resivor tank and turned the jeep on and bingo it filled extremely fast and bearly run the compressor. Win for me. Don't know if it's repeatable.
