Trans Cooler just installed
I have just installed a Trans Cooler and now the Temperature has drop by 15c to 20c. Wow that's amazing.
I bought a second hand trans cooler that I pulled from a Jeep Cherokee at the Wreckers (525 x 100mm). I fitted beautifully across the front of the radiator. I was going to make up special brackets but it worked out perfect for just having a 2" hose clamp on the L/H side and a small wire twist fastener on the R/H side. On the motorway today cruising at 100kph the temp average about 63c with a max temp recorded at 70c when going slow and driving up a few hills at slow speed. The outside temp was 31c. Also the Fluid temp now drops fast once under way because there's air flow over the Trans Cooler not just the std basic heating/cooling tank at the bottom of the radiator.
If you have a JK Wrangler "Do yourself a favor" and install a Trans Cooler, it's a MUST DO modification!
