Got the fuel tank skid bent up this morning. Tank fits real snug and gives me an extra 30mm rear clearance and 20mm in the front. The notch is for diff pumpkin clearance after the small rear stretch. I've still gotta fill it in then mold the tank to fit the notch.

Also removed the TJ steering pump and started assembling the WG/TJ hybrid pump. Got the steering cooler and filter figured out too. Pics of steering will be put up when it's all assembled

Successfully re-moulded the stock tank this morning and added some side protection on the skid. I used a hot air gun inside the tank and a MAPP gas torch to heat the steel then used the ratchet straps to pull the tank in - the skid notch does the tank clearancing then. Took 10 minutes and worked a treat. Just have to plate over the big hole underneath and drill the holes for the mounts and it'll go in.

It's been a slow couple of weeks due to work and study but made a little progress before the rain set in.. started cutting the floor board notch for the transfer case. There's a pressed sheet steel 'cross-member' of sorts that the front seats front mounts bolt too which increases strength a lot but it's also in the way so some of it had to go. I'll tidy up the cuts once the rain buggers off and cover the hole with the 1.5mm chromoly sheet. It'll be just as strong and give better belly clearance. Always hurts making the first cut in undamaged panels. Got the front panhard sorted and the rear lower control arms. Waiting on the 7/8 heims for the rear panhard

This is looking great, i did the same thing to my tj a few years ago, i did A frame rear and saved modding my fuel tank, and i got some flanges sent over for the d300, that allow landcruiser patrol style bolt on flanges, they are super strong, no more shity straps. I also used an f100 pitman arm for the larger tie rod. Works great

Thanks mate. I've thought about going output flanges but I'd only recently rebuild the DC joints on both shafts so I'll stick with them for the time being. I'm running a WG/WJ pitman already as they're 19mm longer between centres and it's already drilled for the Synergy chromoly TRE's. Did the effie pitman bolt to your steering box? I know they're both Saginaw's but that's pretty cool.
Any pics of your setup mate? I've got a D300 7/8" clocking ring here for $60 brand new too if that's of any help to you?
