Well guys I've finally started, with moving interstate and getting everything setup at the new pad I've commenced.

I went with Summit racing in the end as they had both some gaskets AND a full set of fasteners.

The FSM suggests raising the engine to get at all the required bolts, I've been a little chicken to commit to that just yet (looking back might have meant I could remove less). This has all been to get at the drivers side as its got the most going on down near the exhaust (steering shaft).
  1. Wheel
  2. Wheel well liner
  3. Airbox
  4. Coolant res
  5. Alternator
  6. Top radiator hose

Well... I was wrong! The drivers side was easier as you can see a lot more once you've got the wheel liner out and the airbox+alternator out of the way. But after all that I managed to get both bolts out with multigrips after a good bit of marination in CRC, as you can see she was leaking well and truely and each part of the exhaust I've separated is very black.

The passengers side is a *beast* I'm now up to the following out:
  1. Battery + battery tray
  2. Unbolted fuse box and fuse box holder (cant get it free just yet)
  3. Front drive shaft
  4. Mid pipes
  5. Oxygen sensors connectors x4 (damn that front passenger side one is hard)

All that and I am still dealing with some bolts totally by feel, glad I can get this done at my own pace, while I think I could get some of this stuff out without the mass removal I do want to see if I can get some SRT8 headers to fit, but my hope is shrinking daily.

As I've removed so much now I'm wondering what I should replace while its out, the CV boot on the driveshaft is intact but it does have some cracking, got wiring looms crumbling everywhere (conduit seems to have a shorter lifespan than the car).

Well I've got a end date now so change of plans, heading up the Cape in a few weeks time so think it's safest to try and get it all buttoned down as it was then do the headers at a later date as I'll definitely need new mid-pipes to suit the SRT8 headers.

Got the stock ones refitted last night and started up without leaks, I think the SRT8 ones will need some 'massaging' to get in there when I finally get around to it. I echo everyone's comments, its a beast of a job, a good set of ratcheting spanners and both shallow and deep sockets and so good tunes / podcasts to listen to, along with about half a case of your favorite nectar and you'll get it done with the minimum amount of cursing.
