Camp at Rawnsley Park and do the Arkapena Scenic Drive. You will probably need low on the second part. It costs money but is a nice drive through some very scenic country along farm tracks that are rough in places. Time it to finish late afternoon at the Pugilist Hill lookout. Or you can camp in Brachina Gorge? The Flinders are awesome.

I always use to stop , put trans in nuetral when going into low. If it baulks i slip trans into drive for a sec then back into nuetral and try again. I found going into low when moving even at walking pace cased transfer case to grind.
I also found offroad performance improved dramatically in low because it locks centre coupler, otherwise you have to spin rear wheels before it transfers drive to front.

Thanks for the tips , i thought with this constant 4wd system the torque was split 52/48% already anyway ? , and that low gear made both axles turn at the same rate , also i believe the rear diff is lsd , am i right there ?, cheers.

Rear is lsd . Rear is driven directly but front is via a viscous coupling which turns at same speed but slips if more than a certain torque value is exceeded. This coupling heats up when slipping ,ie wheel spin , which causes fliud to get thicker and therefore transmit more torque.

I always stop to change range too, despite what the handbook recommends as I simply don't like the idea of gears meshing without being in sync - sometimes it is difficult to engage when stopped so going into drive and forward a little helps. It does not seem to matter wether it's in D N or P either.
