with 265/70R16 Hankook MT RT03 i had rubbing at the front of the wheel well and back even with the pinch weld flattened

pinch weld will NEED to be flattened and you might have to cut some of the front wheel well liner to stop the rubbing

ok i'm now thinking i will go the kumho KL71s 245/75/16

At the end of the day it's about traction! seems silly to have a locker and a/ts

Now i just need some friends to tag along with... haha

The easy way to do the mod is to use a hot knive (soldering iron).
Cut a slot around the pinch weld on three sides (u-shape).
Use a heat gun to soften the plastic.
Pull the plastic tab back to expose the pinch weld.
Sledge-hammer the pinch weld flat.
Spray the area with paint (coz it will have flaked off).
Heatgun the plastic flap and mould it so it goes flat.
Heatgun the now flattened flap over the 'hole' in the liner and plastic weld the hole.

This is how i did mine and it worked well.

By bashing the pinch weld doesn't it throw something else out? that little thing looks pretty solid..

ya gotta hit it with a BFH but it does fold over with persuasion
