Probably not, especially if you have a diesel.

[QUOTE=shakes;1486724]Definitely fully sealed.

Just found out the Cig plug needs to be at least 10a :P Was wondering why it wasnt cooling as quick as it should.. (made a dummy lead with a batt to test times in the house)

Why fused both ends? My understanding was once in the circuit was enough.
Is 50amp enough? or should I run 100amp?

and using ebay cause its easy example.

[QUOTE]

I just upgraded my under bonnet aux cabling and used self resetting circuit breakers. I found fuse holders lose too much voltage especially when there are two. I bought my 6BS cable for the aux in the boot from Ebay and had no dramas with it. But it was a fair bit more than $1 a metre. I am yet to upgrade the boot aux set up. But when I do I am going with another circuit breaker and losing the 70a blade fuse and holder. I also am going with a 175a Anderson in the boot instead of my current 50a which is not working well enough.

Regards A

As Rainman stated you need to fuse cabls at the battery so when you run a rear mounted battery that cable needs to be fused at both ends, this is commonly overlooked, sse it on many sites that people think it's ok to run a large, high current cable through a car unprotected.
As for fusing, the fuse rating is determined by cable's rating NOT the desired load as the fuse is there to protect the cable ONLY....
To successfully start from a rear mounted battery will require a substantial cable....

Thats pretty simple to answer. A standard starter has around 2.2kw.
2200W / 12V=183 A
So the fuse value should be around 200 to 300A. Just have in mind that the cable must handle this load too. Just check for the proper diametre in the charts...
