Is there a possibility that the computer needs to un-learn the fault code. (This happened with my Amarok)
Or is there anything else to clean?
The engine has started to run-on when I turn it off.
After doing what you are trying, my Map sensor kept throwing up the same code even after clearing it each time.
I ended up getting a MAP sensor from a wrecker for $50 which solved the issue. I also cleaned the EGR tube and installed a Flashlube catch can. It's only thrown the "service electronic throttle control" fault once and self cleared.

Hi again
So after cleaning the MAP sensor and EGR as above, with the engine light still coming on exactly every second start I replaced the MAP sensor with an original Bosch part for $50. Six weeks postage later fitted the sensor and it’s NO better.
Any ideas from the brains trust?

Im sure Bursons have the MAP sensor in stock ......................

Since you can read codes can you clear them ?? and what gizmo are you using as some only read generic and not Jeep codes so there may be hidden codes....
Have a reread of the start of this thread, it may be the butterfly valve causing it, so have a look at the gears, if broken, I'd be looking at the Ebay link in one of the posts....... worth a look anyway....

I’ve now removed and cleaned the throttle body. Fault codes are coming on every 3rd start so that’s a small improvement.
I did notice when twisting the butterfly it was a bit rough just before fully closed position so it might be the gears as per the eBay item.

I’ve only got a small hand held OBD reader from a discount auto shop- might take it to the local mechanic who’s very good to see if there are hidden codes, hopefully it’s not going to need the Jeep dealer

Did you test the butterfly valve as described early in this thread ?? I would dismantle and if not working dismantle and see if cogs are chewed before ordering stuff...........

I haven't found a reason yet where I need to go to a Dealer for a repair, actually on any vehicle, I always find, isolate what part is causing the problem then go to a specialist to get the job done, Tranny is a tranny shop, certainly a Diesel shop for most engine problems beyond me, brakes and steering I use someone who knows about it, same for exhaust systems......... A Dealer is where I go to but a car never to return mostly........ From my view a dealer is the biggest reason one needs a warranty.

I too had this issue a little while back. My car was throwing a few other codes as well one relating to the position of the intake air valve aka throttle body.

After doing some testing per techconnect (how do I add PDF to the post) turns out the throttle position sensor in the throttle body on my car failed. I believe it is a hall effect type sensor that detects the position of the throttle body actual blade position and relays the info to the PCM

This is a super important component as it not only prevents over run when you switch your car off, it also assists in cold starts, swirl function and probably most importantly DPF regens to prevent soot buildup and DPF blockages.

I sprung for a new one at $1200 but could not wait weeks for one to arrive from the US. Dealer was over 2k for the part

If anyone knows how to upload PDF's happy to post the tech stuff
