What has changed since the old days, belts the same they still break, hoses split, I always have a spare belt and hoses and that includes a length of heater hose and clamps in the back, if you can't use them then the RACQ bloke will, saves heaps of hassle.

The Chrysler part number is 4891587AA
Then I came across a website called Findpart.org which lists a variety of alternatives
Just for interest; Bursons quoted $73. Car booked in for replacement at Jeep dealer - I wonder what they will charge?

My guess is around $350. Seems like a typical Jeep mark up on the aftermarket price.
I just purchased a Gates belt for my 2.7 from Autobarn (they ordered it in) for $49. Probably took all of 15 minutes to do. Easier than the old fashioned "V" belts.

Had belt replaced by dealer - CH04891587AB - $158 plus $115 fitting.
Heading north for Longreach on Saturday, about 2000km from home. Hope all goes well. New tyres, glow plugs, belt, serviced and swirl motor bypass in situ.
Wish me luck!
cheers, Roger

I can imagine the aussie jeep price, better get one in from overseas?

I'd carry a spare as the norm if I was going away. Available from repco, veales etc, cheap round $50 - $60.

Yes yes, you are correct, its the PK number, I was sitting there looking at a parts list and wondering why I had two numbers next to the belt.
