crd08 is running 17x8" steelies with a +30 offset on his Commander with no issues - I assume the brakes are the same, so maybe send him a PM?

The other issue you need to consider is the diameter of the centre bore as our Jeep wheels are hub-centric. I think crd08 had to have his machined to suit. The centre bore diameter is 71.5mm:http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowled...ifications.htm

Yet another example of why we should combine the WH GC and XH Commander forums Clarky!

I've seen some 17" steel GC rims on the US forums used in builds occasionally. Apparently they're the stock full-size spare on some US WKs (as-in our WHs.)... Dunno if you could find some here and if they'd fit with those tyres, but they look unreal(!!!).

These would be the ones you are talking about.

These have them listed cheaper but have never dealt with them.

Yep that's them. Offset seems too high, but plenty of guys use them so should be ok... And easy enough to check any clearance issues with those tyres.

I ran Steelies on my Commander with my Muddies for the about 3 years but they only just cleared the calipers. In fact 2 of them scrapped on the calipers so these went to the rear wheels and the other 2 just missed so I had each wheel marked for where it went. They were 17" x 7" which sat with 1 1/2" more off set. I've sold them now and run special edition Black JK Rubicon alloys.

Ok, so it seems like a touch and go thing. I'll talk to the tyre shop to see it they are happy with a test fit.

If there's one near you, Tyrepower dealers are expected to to do test fits happily.
