hi Multihull, we were talking about the same glow plug, only difference is which way we were looking, front of car to firewall (ME) or looking frontwards (YOU)

Glad to hear that you got it fixed but then again it seems that it continues with No 2, what a pain in the butt. Good luck

Question

At what sort of mileage should the glow plugs be replaced?

How can you tell if a GP is faulty?

Is there a workshop manual for the Commander?

Thanks in advance

When they stop working they get replaced. They may work for over 150,000km plus. The only way to tell if they are faulty is with a scan tool you plug into your cars ECU (electronic control unit) The plug is under the dash next to the driver R/H knee.
You don't need to replace them a scheduled time/distance, just when faulty.

Default Glowplugs

Supercheap and Repco can supply 6 glowplugs for about $120.00 Total. $20.00 ea NGK.
They are working fine for me, all codes gone, touch the ignition switch and it fires into life!

Jenkomagic, I think the numbering goes drivers side starting at the front then 1,2,3 ....3 is closest to your steering wheel.
Passengers side: front 4,5,6 ....6 closest to the passenger.
Just rep[lace them all, I had 3 faulty.

That picture is excellent - thankyou very much as the labels make it very clear. Much appreciated!

Is there an online website somewhere which has these sorts of diagrams or instructions for glow plug removal, e.g. With torque specifications to retighten the new glow plugs?
