Default Ukraine war influences spare parts supply heavily.

Well, I wanted to order some spare parts today and found out a lot of common parts are simply not available.
I also got an remanufactured starter and look at this:

It explains a lot why many components are not available…

Yes well a lot of Jeeep/Chrysler car parts are manufactured in the Baltic states such as the Ukraine and Croatia. "Crown" brand things in particular. Even the Hema map downloads come from the Baltics (Bulgaria from memory but might be wrong).Anyway when I get the bankcard bill it says something like that

Croatia and Bulgaria are nowhere near the Baltic sea
They are Balkan states

Problem persists that a lot of bearings and parts including joints are getting difficult to get.
I never wanted to buy stuff which was cheap and available. It‘s a questions how long it is going to last. Funny thing is that the „good“ stuff is getting difficult to get.

For this reason I was stocking up filters, joints and seals. Better having it, than needing it.

Yes well, geography of Europe has never been my strong point... so parts are made somewhere in Europe then... any happier?

I have used a similar strategy over the years especially when the US/Aus dollar relationship was a lot better. Now cheaper to look for the parts here in Australia though a lot of the dealers for Jeep have sold out on a lot of items that they know not when they will have to sell again.

I have had success with Repco in particular for a lot of items that I could not get elsewhere here and for which buying from the USA was not economical with exchange rates and postage etc.

Surprisingly I was able to buy a drop in replacement radiator a month ago via EBay from a supplier in Sydney( in about 7 days from order to deliver) and that was a direct fit and that was not available from say JeepKonnection, or DBOR etc for months (if and when). And it was at least half the price of supply from the USA. It went all the way to Arnhem Land and back no problems (so far).

I also have several shelves in the garage that are filled with a variety of JK parts that are slowly being used up.

Sparesbox, RockAuto, Superspares have all been useful suppliers.
