I really don't understand most of you.
You all know that you have difficulties with your transmission temperatures.
Instead of getting a solid solution most of you buy those cheap a.. tranny coolers around 50 to 90 bucks, throw that thing in front of your radiator and hope for the very best.
As soon as you recognize that it won't help as you intended you start to whine at the bad,bad jeep engineers.
You have to bite your teeth together and start the next try.
A good cooler unit made from Derale, Perma-cool or Flex-a-lite runs you 200 or 250US-$.
This is not the ultimate.
There are Setrab or Aeroquip units available for 3 to 4 times the price and even small sized they transfer heat very effecitive.
I use a Setrab unit for around 500€ - excluding the fan!
What you pay is what you get!
Get a bar and plate type cooler- not a copper snake winding itself through several layers of cheap and flimsy sheet metal.
Decreasing oil pressure dangerously low!
Your cooling chain is only as strong as the weakest chain link. In this case the radiator itself and the location.
Instead of working on Jeep basics problems you
must have those big tires- which put an additional load on the tranny.
Folks, whats wrong with you?
I'm sorry for this not really serious rant- but I think you don't see the reality.
Stop complaining and start to work on your Jeeps as you prepare for the mud. You need a reliable DD to get to the mud -before you can hit the mud.
