I think he means what is the alloy block mounted to the transmission cooler lines. This block is on the R/H side near the bell housing. I believe the 3.6 petrol model now runs the 5 speed Merc 722.6 / NAG1 tranny. the block is a by pass value and i think it may have a thermostat in it so when the fluid is cold it doesn't run to the radiator but does a bypass back to the tranny to warm up faster.
Can Transmission expert confirm this?
