No, mine was only at certain speeds so if i slowed below 104 it would stop immediately. The shudder was similar to what i had experienced with the acceleration up hill gearbox issue but had a little bit of feel through the steering wheel as vibration. I had convinced myself it was gearbox or torque converter but turned out to be tire. Jeep offered 1 new rim for $1540 so i bought a set off ebay with tires for $600 for 4. My gearbox shudder was totally random with no rhyme or reason, underload, unloaded, random speeds nothing that could be isolated, it did stop after doing a transmission fluid change at 70,000km. ( Earliest recommended service was at 100,000km if used for hire car or extensive towing, mine wasn't used for either)

When the dealer notified Jeep tech. they came straight back with the fix. They shudder would only appear at 80k or above and it was through the car body/seat and not the steering wheel. You could pull over and stop and after a few minutes restart and the shudder was gone.

Hi Baxter
Thank you so much for your post.
It seems yours was very similiar with mine as I pull over and restart the shudder was gone as well.
Also it only happens when the transmission is hot as i would say after 20 min it normally happens.
Was it randomly or more constant?

I would say random , but it did not happen (as far as I can remember) running around the Suburbs. I travel at speeds 80-100 50% of the trip to work and the shudder would only happen 80 or above but it was regulator (about once a week)

What is the condition of the transmission fluid?

It's not uncommon for a shudder to develop with auto gearboxes during acceleration if the fluid is in bad condition.

However if its happening when crusing at a steady speed on the highway, it might be some other issue.

My 2012 GC is now on 76,000km and the last few weeks I haven't taken it over 80 as it was mainly driving to work and back. Today I took it out on the highway and above 100 I felt a vibration, almost feeling like a wheel out of balance, but coming through the body and not the steering. It was more pronounced under load/acceleration, but still ever so slightly noticeable at a steady speed above 100. The only change to my Jeep recently was the fitting of a Murchison lift kit.
