Yeah, I think Pipeliner said he was getting around 13-14 towing his Camper trailer, ( I would be scared to think what mine would be like towing )

13.2 average over 5,500 km in August, most towing the trailer (approx. 1.5 tonne) or following Cmohr, Ed, CDKJ and others up steep rocky slopes.

Engine manufacturers spend hundreds of hours and probably millions of dollars developing efficient combustion chambers and intake manifolds to deliver air and fuel in the most efficient way. I somehow don't think that some little gadget which makes the air swirl a bit more is going to greatly effect performance and economy. You'd probably notice more by regularly checking your tyre pressures and driving sensibly than by installing HiClones. Dunno. Just my 2 cents worth.

I guess you're right mkh, with one caveat that I'm not so sure that American auto makers have been all that worried about fuel consumption in the past. So I thought that the carb mod just might have given some improvement in the Jeep. I wonder if Hiclone would be prepared to give a few to some AJOR members for testing?

Before Direct Fuel Injection when air and fuel were mixed before they hit the cylinder...those things helped a bit. With Direct Injection and the fact that a Diesel runs on unrestricted air supply...they don't help a bit. (Tornado included)
