some short wheel base 4wd have higher towing capacity than there longer wheelbase models..... 3 door prado...3000kg braked 5 door prado 2500kg braked........
i have always wonderd how they work out towing capacity on 4wd it doesn,t make sense sometimes.......
there has to be a problem in design strength somewhere. most medium size fourbies have a tow rating of 3 tonne. could be soft suspension or weak drive line components. the jk was designed basically as a vehicle for offroad use in the states where it's great advertising campaign hilights its ability to climb over boulders not tow large trailers.
