Ok well I spoke to soon it drove home beautifully a little bit jerky on some gear changes but nothing to bad i guessed the tcm was still learning. This morning though almost ended up with a semi up my arse on the highway when it wouldnt change gears uphill and had no drive. I had to limp home through constantly stopping and starting to clear it out of limp mode. It's throwing codes P0734 and 0733- incorrect gear ratios 3&4. Is this just part of the learning process or is it likely to be something else.

Back to HAMMONDS most likely solenoid/ valve body or possibly TCM or a F#$@ed box $4500-$5500 for a rebuild

So the jeep specialists tell me that they think the problem is quite possibly the solenoid pack and maybe the valve body $1500-2000 to replace or it might be the TCM but unlikely. They also reckon if I'm going to spend that much I may as well just rebuild the box for between $4500-5500 the variable being that sometimes metal debris from the torque converter destroyes the casing and makes it unrebuildable. The question is this if I was to replace the solenoid pack and valve body and this still didn't fix the problem is it likely that they would need replacing a second time before rebuilding the box.
