Default Getting Torque to read tranny temp on JK 2012 diesel auto

Hi Guys,
Does anyone have the custom PIDs required to get Torque to read a JK Wrangler 2012 auto tranny? I have seen PIDs for pre 2012, but I require them for a 2012 on. Yes Torque was recently updated with two methods of reading tranny temp, but only one half works. The reading it gives is a copy of the water temp so it is crap and should not be used.
Drive used to, sorry, Drive can read Tranny temp. On my old phone (Android) drive works well, but I have updated to a new phone and drive won't even connect. Something about permission for Bluetooth. Do not bother to purchase drive if you have a new phone as the maker does not reply to emails (maybe he has shuffled on) and it will not work. The fact that I can get Drive to read tranny temp (old phone) means it can be done. I have come close to getting Torque to work, the gauge does communicate with the reader as I get the green heart beat, but it does not give temp.

As it seems Drive is now not getting support anyone out there know how to pick it to bits (code) and get the goods!

True tranny temp on Torque would be the icing on the cake...

Hi,

I have 2012 JK CRD AT european model, and for me the following values seems to deliver the right results.
PID 2130
Equation L-50
OBD Header 7E1
You can also see some screen captures with the Torque running on my tablet on this topic from Torque forum: http://torque-bhp.com/forums/?wpforu...topic&t=4174.0
The real transmission temp. is reported by Torque as long as the lever is in D or R, in Park the program shows the coolant temperature as a substitute.
On the last Torque update there are some new custom PIDs for the trans temperature but I haven't got the chance to test them yet.
As soon as I will get results I'll post them here.

Good luck,
Andi

Default Custom PID for 2012 Auto Diesel

My Auto tranny thanks you all.

Following Andi's post below, I got Torque to read the Auto on a Aussie viechicle.
In Torque, go into settings - Manage extra PIDs/Sensors then add a custom PID. Make it look like this and there you have it.

Be kind to your Tranny and keeping an eye on him when in the rough stuff or towing.

Enjoy ...

I am also running torque on my 2012 jk auto 3.6 using the updated PID, what temps are you guys seeing (daily driving, rotating, off road)? I had a recording of 77c highway driving pulling a 3.6m tinny.

I'm running on the same, JK 3.6 & getting around the 70c mark around town.

Would be great to know what the "safe" operating limits are, for coolant temp as well.
I'll be towing a similar sized boat up towards Cairns in a few weeks & would like to keep an eye on temps

I agree Paul about the safe temp range, it does put the wind up you for a moment when you put it in park and it jumps to 109c till you realize is defaulted to the coolant temp lol.
