It's nuts, luckily replaced under warranty but would have gone elsewhere if not. A mate of mine has a Merc ML320 (same donk as the WH CRD) and was quoted over $900 for a battery from the same dealer when Irelands had the Merc agency (which they have now lost). Needless to say, he went elsewhere.

When the battery died I was going to simply go and buy a new battery, then decided to read the Jeep warranty info in the handbook and realised that the battery was not "excluded" so gave it a shot as the car is not 3 years old yet. Called and was told it would be replaced under warranty so booked the car in. They load tested the battery and told me it had failed then handed me the $550 quote - explained it was already arranged under warranty and all sorted. New Mopar battery at no cost....happy with that.

G'day Marco, had the same happen to my WH earlier in the year. The (new) dealership in Ballarat thought I had to pay for it. I said no, it's warranty and they were surprised but replaced it without fuss.
As you've found out Jeep factory warranty is worth every cent!
Regards John (still at the Isa)

Default swirl motor needs replacing !!!

Just had my 2006 crd grand serviced today at Bayside Jeep in Frankston and was told the swirl motor needs replacing.
Any info on this would be appreciated as they want over 2 grand to fix it !!!
They told the wife that it seems to be rather common of late so surely it should be a recall.

Default Service 4WD System

Yesterday the "service 4wd system" message came up and has stayed on permanently. Today, making a turn and it feels like all diffs are locked. Shifted to Low and back to High range makes not difference. Have booked it in for a check on Monday but reluctant to drive the 65k to the dealer. Anyone else had this happen? Should I get them to flatbed the car to them?

G'day Marco, if it was mine I would not drive it and speak to Jeep Assist, explain the problem and they will flatbed it to Irelands.
