Default Glow plug control module

Hi All,

I have been getting glow plug faults for a while now. I replaced all 6 plugs and still have the problem so will now replace the control module. I took the existing module off to get the numbers and they were A642 153 20 (can't read the rest) and 0522 140 202 but when I phoned jeep they could not find these parts and suggested another part number (68013182AC) but wanted $700 for it. I thought I would look online using the number Jeep have me but the parts I have found look very different to the one I currently have. Have any other commander owners replaced their glow plug modules and if so what was the part number?

Cheers

I chased this fault without an OBDII code reader and it cost me more in the long run.
I replaced All glow plugs & the crank angle sensor with no luck

It was a U0106 fault code “Lost communication with glow plug control module”

Simple check with a ELM327 WIFI OBDII adapter and your Android or iPhone with an app like Rev or Torque

Original Part Number “642-900-28-00”

Replacement Part Number “642-900-58-01”

available from http://www.factorymoparparts.com/ I searched and ordered the original part number & received the replacement part number.

If I could offer you one piece of advice it is Buy a OBDII Reader!!!
It will save you money (& time) in the long run.

A quick search of Google showed me these for the above part numbers.

The link to the australian ebay item is the module I have. The others are what I am seeing when I look up the 68013182 number that jeep gave me. Are these interchangable?

I had a similar problem with my GP's. Even though I replaced GP #2 that was faulty it kept coming up as stuffed. I finally replaced the GP module and all was good.
I buy my Merc engine parts for my Commander from the USA via Euro Parts-SD. They're cheap, fast and you can choose between OEM or others:

Hi. This GPCM on Europarts site says for 2007 on engines.... Would it be the same for a 2006 GC?
Thanks
