This is what we all do in reality, but, as mentioned above, it is actually illegal and you couldn't get it tagged as such. Just not that keen to buy a gadget that does the same thing for $240 that we're never going to use for anything again.

I'll be at Jambo no matter what, but having camped all over Australia, I've never heard such weird camping regulations. Just means no power for us, I suppose.

www.jeepjamboree.com.au

As per my post November (sorry for not confirming) camping on Wednesday night for Thursday kick-off should be fine.

...but it probably won't be 6pm or so on the Wednesday. Those of us organising the Jambo for everyone are taking days off work to get things ready and we need to actually make sure it's all ready before people land on site (which I'm sure you can understand).

FYI, we will be able to have some things done before hand, but the final "get the site ready" will not be happening until Tuesday and Wednesday.

Default Campers and vans to rent

Because this is the accommodation thread, I just wanted to pull over something from the original main Jambo thread about carvans that OzJeeper put in:
"Milners Caravans have a limited number of campers and vans to rent out. My suggestion is if you want a van taken on-site and taken away when you leave the Jamboree, BOOK IT NOW as they will run out of vans soon. 03 56234104"

Hmmmm, me neither in all my travels.....

OK PK, here's a question:
My camper has a 100AH deepcycle battery, running 12V merit plug outlets and LED strip lights.
To charge it, it has a 40A 240v Xantrex Truecharge charger. Normal 240v plug.
Can i plug that in to the Lardner power supply to keep the battery topped up?
Do i have to get it tested and tagged? And what of a 15A (but normal sized pin) power extension cord? (ie not a 'caravan' extension lead)

Or it it easier to just bring the Honda 1.0 genny and charge the battery off that?
