Default Brake query?

I was adjusting my handbrake today and during the process i noticed one of the metal clips that sit on the side of the brake pad was missing, it appears to be a guide or assists holding the brake pad into the caliper.
My question is with this missing is that a cause of concern or no great drama?

You mean the clips that sit in the grooves of the caliper? If so i these are some sort of anti rattle device. The pad on the piston side also has a strip that faces the disc, this one is suppossed is a warning sounder to let you know that the pads are in need of replacing. Just out of curiousity how much meat was on your handbrake shoes and at what km. Just i had mine apart to clean the other day and i was surprised that they only had about 2mm of pad material on at 42000km. Seeing as all they do is act as a parkbrake maybe this is all they have?

yeah that seems to be it.

To be honest i didnt measure the thickness of the shoe but that there was that much crap in there it wasnt in the best of nicks. The car has done just shy of 28000km but before adjustment the handbrake was next to useless and this has been the second time i have had to adjust it

Full of crap is what mine were. I think from now on i will remove the discs and clean them everytime i go 4wding thru mud. May as well as the handbrake always needs adjustment afterwards anyway and it's far easier to do with the disc off.

Default Another Brake Question

i recently had a 2.5inch lift on my 08 CRD Unlimited,

My understanding with the lift was that brake line extensions were included in this lift.

Out and about on the weekend I noticed that the rear brake lines were tight when the rear was at full extension.

Can anyone tell me if my rear brake lines have been extended from the picture attached?

not unless they are new lines. The chassis mount very much appears to be the stock one. Aftermarket drop generall its 2" lower than that.
